Come hear Dr. Lila Nachtigall, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University School of Medicine on the “Pursuit of a Successful and Meaningful Academic Career: How to have your cake and eat it, too.”

Dr. Lila Nachtigall has been a well-respected authority on reproductive health for more than four decades and has devoted the past 45 years to the study of women’s health in the classroom and the laboratory in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University’s School of Medicine. She is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU School of Medicine, where she is Co-Director of the Interdisciplinary Menopause Division.

Dr. Nachtigall’s excellence in advancing women’s health has also been recognized by her peers, as she is past president of the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) and has served as chair of the Joint Task Force on Women’s Issues at NYU’s School of Medicine. Dr. Nachtigall has also served as President of the Bellevue Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and founded the Foundation for Women’s Wellness, where she currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Dr. Nachtigall has published and lectured around the world in the field of women’s health. She has published approximately 200 reports, reviews, books and monographs. Dr. Nachtigall’s books entitled, What Every Women Should Know, and Estrogen (second and third editions) have sold more than 200,000 copies. Dr. Nachtigall isEditor-in-Chief of International Perspectives on Menopause Management and serves on the editorial board of the journal Menopause.

Dr. Nachtigall completed her internship and residency in medicine and fellowship in endocrinology at New York University Medical Center-Bellevue Hospital before becoming a research trainee in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Bellevue.

She is married to Dr. Richard H. Nachtigall, a Professor of Internal Medicine at New York University School of Medicine, and has three daughters, two of whom are endocrinologists and the third is a NY State Supreme Court Judge. She has nine grandchildren.
